Many tenants keep pets and keeping them in a usual manner as a family pet is permitted in VAV’s housing. However, professional breeding or looking after dogs, cats or other pets is not permitted. If such activities are carried out in the apartment, it may result in cancellation of the tenancy.
The owner must ensure that pets are not able to startle other people or cause risk or damage. The owner must also ensure that dogs do not disturb the living environment by barking or howling.
Pets must not be allowed to dirty buildings or the property’s area. Washing animals in the communal areas of the property is absolutely forbidden.
According to the city’s rules on public order, dogs must be kept on a lead in public areas, including in the outdoor areas of the building. Pets are not allowed in children’s sand pits or play areas. Anyone exercising a pet must immediately clean up after their pet. Owners are liable to pay compensation for any damage caused by their pet.
Feeding birds and squirrels on balconies and in the outdoor areas of the property is absolutely forbidden as they dirty the yards and balconies and in the worst case spread dangerous diseases.
