You can also conveniently sign the rental agreement electronically. If you would like to sign the lease at the VAV office, please make an appointment in advance with <a href=\"https:\/\/vav.fi\/en\/contact\/\">our customer service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If your spouse or another tenant of equal status is also applying for a rental property, they will also need to identify themselves and sign the lease. Sign in person or with a certified power of attorney. You can make the power of attorney yourself or use the <a href=\"https:\/\/vav.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/VAV-Power-of-attorney.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VAV Power of attorney template (pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>If changes happen in your life<\/h2>\n<p>If your life situation changes temporarily, you can transfer your VAV rental property to another person. However, you need VAV&#8217;s permission. <a href=\"https:\/\/vav.fi\/en\/residents\/living-in-our-houses\/changing-or-handing-over-your-apartment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read the guidelines and rules for re-renting.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the change in your living situation is permanent, you can apply for a new rental property from VAV.<\/p>\n<h2>Deposit<\/h2>\n<p>For leases starting after 1 June 2024, no deposit is required.<\/p>\n<p>For contracts that started before 1 June 2024, the deposit will only be refunded at the end of the lease if the tenancy has been successfully completed.<\/p>\n<p>This means that the deposit will be returned to the payer if all keys have been returned, the apartment is cleaned and in good condition and all rent and other charges have been paid.
