Our goal is to build affordable rental housing in Vantaa in the most sustainable way possible. The sustainability objectives visible in construction will increasingly guide future new construction plans. Currently, three new VAV developments are under construction in Vantaa.<\/p>\n
Sustainable and responsible construction is at the core of VAV’s construction activities. It is also based on a diverse mix of housing, habitability, comfort and longevity. From the design stage, efforts are made to ensure that the building serves its users and the environment in the best possible way.<\/p>\n
“Our aim is to build eco-labelled buildings with high-quality and secure construction solutions. Sustainability is also reflected in the maintainability and energy efficiency of the buildings,” says Antti Huurre<\/strong>, VAV’s Director of Construction.<\/p>\n The maintainability and energy efficiency of buildings, taken into account at the design stage, will significantly extend the lifetime of buildings. The new buildings will be built in energy class A, which will reduce overall energy consumption. Wherever possible, they will also be equipped with their own renewable energy generation, such as solar power.<\/p>\n Sustainability will also lead to more environmentally friendly solutions indoors. Energy-efficient appliances and lighting, water-saving furniture and water meters and displays for individual apartments are used.<\/p>\n “Reducing our carbon footprint and reducing emissions are important goals for us. We use eco-labelled and low-carbon materials as much as possible in our construction,” says Huurre.<\/p>\n VAV’s two new developments built with state support are due to be completed in Vantaa in early autumn 2025.<\/p>\n A 7-storey residential building will be built at Lipstikkakuja 2 in Asola, which will be VAV’s fifth Swan Eco label building when completed. The second residential building will be completed at Myyrm\u00e4entie 2, close to Myyrm\u00e4ki station and will be a modern 16-storey tower block with up to 120 apartments and sauna facilities on the top floor.<\/p>\n In Vantaa’s Simonkyl\u00e4, a centre for the elderly in Tikkurila is under construction. The project will include 146 service apartments and is expected to be completed in early 2027. The elderly centre will be fully leased to the Vantaa and Kerava Welfare Region, which will sub-lease the apartments to future residents. Upon completion, the owner VAV Palvelukode will have nearly 900 apartments in Vantaa, which will be focused on service housing.<\/p>\n Currently, VAV also has three new properties planned, some of which are expected to start operations in 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Our goal is to build affordable rental housing in Vantaa in the most sustainable way possible.
