VAV’s painting kit and DIY laminate

We hope you enjoy your home for a long time. Even a small amount of painting can make your home more comfortable.

You can get a painting kit free of charge if you want to paint the walls of your apartment. Order the kit by sending a message to VAV’s customer service, for example, in OmaVAV. If you only need paint for a small area, such as one room, please let us know when you order the painting kit.

Please note that VAV will randomly check the paint job. If the painting has not been done according to the instructions or has been done carelessly, the tenant must pay for the correction of the faulty work and possibly for the work to be redone.

VAV’s customer service will process your order as soon as possible and let you know when you can pick up the paint from our partner store. You can only pick up the paint once you have received confirmation. VAV always decides on a case-by-case basis whether to grant a painting kit. For example, we will not grant a painting kit if your lease is about to expire, you have rent arrears, or a lawsuit is pending.

Please note that all waste and debris from the renovation must be sorted and recycled correctly.

VAV color chart

You can paint the rooms with white paint. You can also use colored paints for accent walls. Only one accent wall can be painted in each room.

You can only order paint colors from the VAV color chart for your paint set. Keep in mind that colors may appear differently on your computer or phone screen. Therefore, it is a good idea to check the colors in the color chart at the store.

You can order accent paints according to the size of your home:

1–2 hours: One colored paint for an accent wall

3–5 hours: Up to three colored paints for accent walls

The painting kit includes:

Painting instructions, sandpaper, renovation filler, painter’s hat, paint wash, painter’s tape, paint roller and its handle, edger, brush set, smoothing trowel.

DIY laminate

If you want to install laminate flooring in your rental apartment yourself, you must request permission to do so. You can obtain permission by contacting the property manager of your building through VAV’s customer service.

If you are granted permission to install laminate flooring, you must agree in writing that you are responsible for the installation.

The condition and age of your home, for example, will affect whether you can install laminate flooring. VAV always decides on a case-by-case basis whether laminate flooring can be installed. We will not grant permission if, for example, your lease is about to expire, you have rent arrears, or a lawsuit is pending.

Please note that colors may appear differently on your computer or phone screen. Therefore, it is a good idea to check the colors in the store using a color chart.

The DIY laminate package includes:

Sound insulation, baseboards, and adhesive for attaching the baseboards. The resident must purchase the tools needed for installing the laminate, such as a laminate cutter.

Please note that VAV will randomly check the work. If the laminate flooring has not been installed according to the instructions or the work is sloppy, the resident will have to pay for the repair of the faulty work and possibly for the work to be redone.

DIY laminate flooring is not intended to replace VAV’s apartment renovations, which are carried out when the surface materials in the apartment reach the end of their life cycle – usually when there is a change of tenant.
