Wiser with water

Your use of water has a direct link to energy consumption, so you should pay special attention to it. In the graphs, you can see how water consumption affects energy consumption in two families of three: one with 5-minute showers and the other with 15-minute showers.

To cut your consumption:

  1. Make sure all your bathroom fixtures are in order. If you notice a leak or suspect something is wrong, inform maintenance right away. If the problem is found early on, damages to structures can be avoided.
  2. Avoid using water, when it is not necessary. You can take shorter showers or avoid running the water continuously when washing hands or dishes, or brushing teeth, for example. Many fixtures have an eco-mode to cut water consumption – use it when possible.
  3. Choose energy efficient appliances and use them effectively.
