Renovations and DIY

Residential repairs and renovations are primarily carried out by VAV when a tenant changes.

To improve their living comfort, residents are entitled to carry out surface repairs to the apartment. However, such work must always be agreed with the property manager in advance. A precondition of receiving such permission is that the work is carried out with sufficient expertise. Once the work is ready, the property manager will check the result.

Renovations of bathrooms, saunas, kitchens and other spaces in need of more comprehensive work are carried out by a contractor selected following an invitation to tender by VAV.

DIY painting

Repairing the wall surfaces of your home is part of residence. If you would like to do some DIY in your home, we recommend contacting your property manager. Property managers store paints and materials for the use of our residents. However, certain criteria applied by the property managers must be met.

Some of the criteria for receiving paints and materials are listed below:

  • the period of residency
  • the condition of the apartment (an inspection of the apartment will be carried out, if necessary)
  • previous renovations
  • equal treatment of residents

It is possible to obtain tinted paints. You can find painting instructions here [LINK].

DIY laminates

Fixing the floor surfaces of your home is part of residence, especially if your residency is long-term and permanent. VAV allows residents to repair floor surfaces using laminates. If you would like to do some DIY in your home, we recommend contacting your property manager. The property managers store laminates for the use of our residents. However, certain criteria followed by the property managers must be met in order to obtain laminates.

An inspection of the apartment is always required, and a resident to whom laminates are issued must agree in writing to take responsibility for the installation of the laminate. Some of the criteria for receiving DIY laminates are listed below:

  • the period of residency
  • the condition of the apartment (always requires an inspection of the apartment)
  • previous renovations
  • equal treatment of residents
