We all want to feel at home – to relax, live our lives and enjoy everyday life. Living in a block of flats or a terraced house means living together, where different lifestyles and schedules come together. That is why situations may occasionally arise where a neighbour’s behaviour causes a disturbance, such as noise, cigarette smoke or untidiness in communal areas.

We’d like to remind you that constructive and respectful communication is the best way to resolve such situations. Often, the disturbance is unintentional, and the other party isn’t even aware of the inconvenience they’re causing. A gentle reminder in good spirit can resolve the situation at an early stage.

To this end, we have developed friendly reminder notes, which you can use to give feedback to your neighbour in a tactful and calm manner. The notes are designed to help maintain a sense of community and avoid unnecessary conflict.

You can find the notes on OmaVAV. They are free to use, and we hope they encourage open yet friendly dialogue.
