Income and asset limits in Vantaa

If you are applying for a state-subsidised rental home through us, we will check the applicants’ income and assets. There are three reasons for this:

  • We ensure that apartments are allocated to those who need them most.
  • We promote affordable housing: We offer apartments to those for whom market-rate rents may be too high.
  • We comply with the law and guidelines: The income and asset limits are based on legislation and ensure that we operate fairly and transparently.

Our aim is to provide safe and comfortable homes for everyone. The vetting process is part of this work and helps us to maintain an effective tenant selection process.

Income limits apply to many of VAV’s apartments

You can apply to us for a state-subsidised rental home in various life situations: whether you are in employment, self-employed, unemployed, retired or a student. Your income or assets must not exceed the specified limits.

In contrast, there are no income or asset limits for VAV’s privately financed rental homes.
