Demolition work will begin at the turn of November and December. The nursery , which had stood empty for a long time, would have required extensive refurbishment.
The nursery, situated at Eppiläntie 1–3, forms part of the VAV property complex, which comprises seven residential blocks. Demolition work on the nursery school will begin at the turn of November and December. The work is expected to take around two months.
VAV decided to demolish the nursery school, which had been vacant for some time, as it had reached the end of its useful life. Continuing to use the building would have required extensive refurbishment as well as major groundworks beneath the building.
The construction site will be carefully fenced off to minimise disruption to the neighbourhood caused by the demolition work. The nursery site will be landscaped into a green space once the demolition work is complete later this spring.
